This is one of my favourite tasks. Figuring out how to get people, sets, props to all those impossible places.
Here is a small selection from simple to mighty

.

Him. 'Pretending' promo.

The concept was to have the choice of the background rocking through frame whilst the artist stayed relative to the camera and vice-versa. To keep it simple stupid, we built a 8'x8' platform, 8' high on a pair of curved tubes. One camera was attached to the rig, (as were the artists with a stick up their bums) and the other camera shot from a crane. A 1.5 ton capacity weight tray was used to alter the frequency of rock. The location was Saint Elaia's finest in WC1.

Directed by Kevin Godley. Rig built by Hothouse

Ronan Keating. 'If tomorrow never comes'.                                    Directed by Kevin Godley. Rig, London Scenery Co.

One of the more simple rigs. Ronan fell in front of a speeding car, singing the song in real time whilst the fall and car were in slow motion. This rig replicated his fall so that the real time singing could be shot. Then his head was replaced.
